The awards have been presented at the 25th İzmir International Short Film Festival. In the National Fiction Short Film Competition, the Best Film Award went to Almost Certainly False, directed by Cansu Baydar. In the International Fiction Short Film Competition, the Best Film Award was presented to Crust, directed by Jens Kevin Georg.

The İzmir International Short Film Festival met with its audience for the 25th time from 11 to 17 November. This year, a total of 4,222 films from 130 countries were submitted to the festival’s national and international competitions in the categories of fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental film. However, due to an insufficient number of submissions, the festival did not open a competitive section in the experimental category. A total of 32 films competed for the Golden Cat Awards, and the festival concluded with an awards ceremony celebrating this year’s winners.
The jury of the National Fiction Short Film Competition consisted of Emre Kavuk, Vildan Erşen, and Görkem Yeltan. Based on the jury’s decision, the Best Film Award was presented to Almost Certainly False, directed by Cansu Baydar. In the International Fiction Short Film Competition, the jury was composed of Martin Markov, Romanna Lobach, Nazlı Bulum, and Celine Roustan. The Best Film Award in this category went to Crust, directed by Jens Kevin Georg.
