A Quarter-Century of Cinematic Tradition in Izmir

The Izmir International Short Film Festival is preparing to meet cinephiles for its landmark 25th edition. As Türkiye’s longest-running uninterrupted short film journey, the festival will be accessible not only in Izmir but across the entire country through a curated program of online screenings and digital events.

As an Academy Award® Qualifying Festival, Izmir remains among a select group of only 162 festivals worldwide whose winners are eligible for Oscar® consideration. This year, the festival has significantly expanded its global footprint through strategic international collaborations aimed at increasing the circulation of Turkish short films abroad. Key promotional activities and partnerships were successfully established with the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival (Germany) and In The Palace International Short Film Festival (Bulgaria).
